Hi,
I feel your husbands pain. See my post called, "Why do I suffer from chronic head pain".
I recommend and MRI, and MRA if need be.I take Propanolol also. Considering uping that to as much as 80mg 2x/day if it is helping you. It helps me alot with the myofacial pain. (ringing in ears, blurred visio, etc.) I too get dizzyness. Apparently that is a common sypmtpon of migraine. Propanolol can help that too. Also, tell him not to stand up very fast, and when bending down, lift head up slowly. If MRI is negative, then consider adding a maintenance med like Paxil or Cynbalta to help balance seratonin in brain. Ibuprophin can help too as it reduces inflamation which is what a migraine is. Migraine is inflamation of blood vessels in brain. Also, look out for triggers. Such as aspartime, chocolate. I hope this helps. I would be happy to dialogue further. Thank you for being there for your husband. My wife has been there fpr me and I know it's a big deal.
