I just checked and "Dizziness or lightheadedness" is one of the possible symptoms of iron-deficiency anemia per the Mayo Clinic website.

I read in another forum where a girl had relief from years of headaches when the iron deficiency anemia in her blood was discovered and handled by supplements.

I have been having headaches in the morning and was recently diagnosed as having very low iron levels in my blood.

It might be worth having your daughter's blood checked for anemia (which has other causes as well as iron deficiency).

As another thought, my wife and I ran a small private school for 25 years (still have a preschool) and head aches were rare in our students, but one child who had persistent headaches turned out to be eating a lot of carbs (for example: puffy pastries, apple juice, orange juice, soda, sugary foods, white bread and jam, etc.) which apparently was causing blood sugar swings (eat/drink the carb and blood blood-sugar level goes up too high, body rushes to control sugar level by making a lot of insulin which tells fat cells to absorb sugar and then sugar level goes too low causing headache and craving for sugary food).

I would check her diet first.

:-)

Hi and welcome to the Migraines & Headaches Community.

Dizziness with headache could be a migraine. Have you given her any OTC meds? If so, do they help? How long do they last? Have you noticed a pattern? Like happening when she is upset/mad, same time of day, hunger, after eating certain foods? There is a whole lot of symptoms and triggers and combos of both and each person is different. After you can answer these questions it might help give you a better idea on whether to be concerned or not.

It sounds like you should take the next step regardless  .....not that you need to be overly concerned, it shows your daughter a lesson that when in doubt check it out and be safe....not to ignore health issues....they learn from us how we respond to their complaints....

Take her and let us know what you find out....wishing you all the best....
