It's been dizzy for several hours now and I am really scared of falling asleep because of it.

It was just a mild concussion and the prescribed me with some pill for the pain that I'm not taking unless it gets unbearable. Thanks.

Hi,

I suggest that you seek immediate consult at the ER to have a thorough assessment. Dizziness and sleepiness after trauma to the head require further evaluation.
A skull radiograph may be readily done and a cranial CT scan with a scan of the cervical spine may be requested to rule out any skull  fracture and involvement of the spine. Do not sleep until a physician has done a complete physical examination and observed you.Ask someone to accompany you during your consultation and keep your test results for future reference. In the presence of a headache,nausea,vomiting and weakness involving the extremities, immediate intervention may be necessary.
