Hi,
How are you? Identifying your migraine triggers will indeed help prevent recurrences. You may benefit from a headache journal or the migraine tracker here in Medhelp. If your present medication does not help much, check with your doctor for proper management. A change in your dose or medication may help. Both abortive and preventive medications may also be prescribed. Take care and do keep us posted.
After a 40 year break, mine returned about two years ago. Just had one this morning. Seems that as thunderstorms and weather changes build my migraines commence. Once the thunderstorms pass, my migraines resolve.
Can't wait for the next 40 year absence!
I really understand your pain. I've getting severe migraines for years. Have ever figured what the trigger for you is? Light, stress, food allergy? I started having them as a result of a bad snowboarding accident.
I am pretty loyal to Imitrex. But always at max dose of 200mg. There is a new drug from makers of Imitrex called Trixamet. It is Imitrex plus an NSAID. I got a sample from my doc. I loved it.
Trixamet is supposed to be covered by any insurance that takes Imitrex, but mine doesn't cover it. Maybe yours will.
Hope I helped.
