Neurology

My 11 y/o daughter has headaches which usually comes with dizziness for the past year. Yesterday, she woke up with numbness in legs, couldn't stand. Later in the evening, she could not lift her head. There has been no diagnosis due to blood/ekg/urine being normal. Does anyone know what may cause this? thanks!

Hi,
How is your daughter? What other tests were done? Dizziness may be attributed to a variety of conditions such as eye and ear issues, blood pressure changes and underlying medical illnesses such as anemia. Numbness, on the other hand, may be neurological in nature. Further evaluation by a neurologist may help determine the underlying cause. A complete neurological examination and imaging studies such as MRI or CT scan may also be indicated. Take care and do keep us posted.

My daughter was a semi-invalid for four years, with equally confusing symptoms. The problem was finally traced to her spine which had minor dislocations due a car accident.
