Oh please someone help me. It would change my life.

When i was thirteen, I was sitting on my parents couch, and out of nowhere, my brain started hammering. The worst headache EVER. My tongue went numb, my arms and legs and face were numb off and on, My vision disappeared, I threw up AND i lost my ability to speak!! I rode it out, for 6 HOURS. A month later it happened again. My parents took me to the hospital, and they did an MRI I think thats what it was called ( they scanned my brain looking for tumors.) I am almost nineteen years old, and I still (every few months) get one of these terrible headaches. It starts with the ache, then my hands go numb, my vision goes, then my speech and eventually i vomit. When they are over i have difficulty speaking for a while, and the next few days am easily confused. If I drink tons of water (like a gallon) and take some excedrin migraine, it will help, but only a little. I live my life in fear of these things. Even thinking about them makes me dizzy. I got one while driving on the interstate once. It was so terrible. I almost crashed my car.
I can go in to more detail, but someone, PLEASE someone must know what these things are?? I am healthy and in shape. I have no diseases etc.
Thankyou.

Hi,
How are you? Were you able to have this checked by a neurologist? Atypical migraine occurs without the appearance of the symptoms that accompany other migraine types. It presents with  facial pain and abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, photosensitivity, weakness on one side of the body and skin pallor.  Treatment is the same with typical migraine medications. A recent imaging study will also help rule out organic causes. Rest, ice packs and prescription medication instead of over-the-counter analgesic may help provide relief. Take care and warm regards.

Hi Traci,

It sounds like u may have a CSF imbalance..(I am not a Dr but have had some CSF issues myself) ......especially since u  feel the need to drink water.

U should go to ur DR and ask for another MRI...see if u can get copies of the first one with the report so it can be compared.Do post an update on what u find out.

By the way I would describe the numbness as pins and needles ...and kind of a temperature change, like you would experience with loss of circulation. I want these things to go away so badly. I feel as if I am losing my mind when they happen. :[
