How long have you been having migraines? Prophylactic medications may be taken daily to reduce the frequency and duration of your migraine headaches. It is important to avoid triggers of your migraine and consider going to sleep and waking up at the same time each day, exercising regularly, avoid skipping meals, and limiting stress through regular exercise and relaxation techniques. Progressive muscle relaxation, meditation and yoga may help. If possible, rest in a dark, quiet room when you feel a headache coming on and place an ice pack wrapped in a cloth on the back of your neck.
