Stabbing pain

I have recently developed a sharp stabbing pain on the  right side of my head on the bone behind my ear. It has now been 3 days and seems to be getting more prominant at night. The bone on my skull in this area is very sore to touch. What could it be??

Hi,

Thanks for writing in.
Sharp stabbing pain behind the ear and soreness can be due to an enlarged lymph node, tonsillitis, mumps, ear infection, dental abscess and injury.
I would suggest you to take OTC anti-inflammatory agents like Motrin and apply some alternate hot and cold compress on the affected part. Hopefully your pain will be relieved. In the meantime please schedule an appointment with your GP.
Good luck!

you could be under stress or a serious migraine starting up so take tylonol or motrin and lay down sleep for a while if it dont go away then try a cold rag where the pain is and lay down it helps me but im not sure if it will help you but good luck
