Strange undiagnosed Headaches, Left side.

I get this pressure feeling on the left side of my head at the temple and my left eye and down my neck on the left side. I have been to my family doctor, Neurologist, and recently a Cardiologist about these symptoms and have not come up with anything. I have had a CT scan of the head, and an MRI w/ Contrast done as well. My Neurologist said that the report came back completely normal and that he thought it was stress related. I have experienced bouts of anxiety and panic attacks but these feelings seem to come on before the anxiety. I will often get this pressure in my head and get slightly dizzy, and confused. Could this be a Migraine? My current Meds are Zoloft 50mg. and Xanax .50mg 3 times a day as needed.

Hi,

How are you?
I know exactly how you feel because recently I had the same problem and ended up at the doctors office and had all sort of tests and these headaches are tension headaches.
It is caused by high level of stress.
It really works to take Magnesuium, you can take as much and if you have too much you will get diarrhea that will mean to take a smaller dose.   You will feel it takes the tension off in your head.
Also taking Vitamine B for stress support along with the Magnesioum helps.
Good luck and keep us posted and I hope you feel better:)
Take care and be well!:)

I just saw a chiropractor a couple days ago and he seems to think that I may have a bulging disc in my neck that is pressing on a nerve and causing some of these sensations. He wants to begin therapy to see if he can help me. Does this make sense to you Dr?

I have a headache that starts in my eye or temple. Then it moves down the side of my fact into my snus, then into my ear, and then into my jaw and then the back of my head. My scalp is tender to the touch and this pattern continues for 15-40 minutes. If this sounds like you, then check out: chronic paroxysmal hemicrania.....

Hi,

Yes pain medications if taken for prolonged period of time can lead to headaches. These headaches are called as rebound headaches.
If you are getting headaches with pain medications, you may need to wean yourself off them.
This can be done by slowly reducing the dose of the pain medications till you are completely off them. It should be done under physician supervision. Take care!

Could they be brought on by certain medicines? It seems like I have frequently had these symptoms after being on Pain meds.

Hi,

How are you?
Yes, it is very likely that these headaches are due to migraine. Migraine is characterized by one sided throbbing headache which may or may not be preceded by photophobia, tunnel vision and ringing in the ears.
Usually migraines are triggered by a food product like caffeine, cheese, processed meats, chocolates, Chinese foods, environmental stress, direct sunlight, cold air and noise.
I would suggest you to consult a headache specialist. In the meantime avoid food triggers and stress. Take care!
