Tension Headache and nausea

Hi, for the past week I have been experiencing headaches, i originally thought it was a hangover, but as the pain hasnt subsided for over a week, it feels more like a tightness in my head. i think this is called a tension type headache? Also i haven't been able to eat due to nausea, i rarely throw up my food unless i force myself, but i continuously feel nauseous and cant bring myself to eat food, which i guess is making my headaches worse.

Can anyone help me

I have been experiencing the same thing. I'm so sorry you're going through this. It's such an uneasy and scary feeling. I'm on day 7, and while it isn't constant it won't go away completely. My headache seems to move around. From the back of my head to the front. I have no appetite and just want to be in bed. I also suffer from anxiety, which only makes it worse. I'm actually going to see my dr this morning, to hopefully get some answers. I'll keep you posted. In the meantime, just try to relax.

Hi, did you get any answers?
Hi kl.  So my dr. ran some tests in the office, and everything seemed to be ok.    She isn't worried about it, but said that I definitely have a sinus and tension headache.  When she looked in my ears, during the standard checkup, she said she could even see the swelling and buildup, through my right ear.  I forgot to mention that I got a headache after I had worked out last weekend, but only because of that, she has asked me to get an MRI.  That is happening today.  I'm still a bit worried, but i'm hoping after the results come in, I can just relax finally.  I know a lot of this is being brought on by my anxiety. Sinus and tension headaches can definitely bring on the nausea.  She gave me ibuprofen 600mg and claritin 10mg.  Are you feeling any better?
Hi! Hope you're feeling a bit better. I found out my headaches were due to low iron. After being on supplements for 3 months my headaches have decreased but still there and I still get nausea. Have you got any answers yet?

The best thing to do is see a doctor. Or go to the ER, where they can give you pain medication and see if there is any underlying cause. Until then you can watch what you eat and see if anything is making it worse (Caffeine, cheese, nuts, ect.) as well as trying hot and/or cold compresses. A bath with Epsom salts might also help.

Also, as for the nausea you can try ginger or pepperment tea. If that doesn't help you could try Dramamine. It is an over the counter medication used for motion sickness, but I have found it helpful when I get nauseous from my migraine.
