I went to the doctors two days ago about migraines/headaches. I get them everyday and really bad. Anyways my doctor told me a list of things that can trigger headaches or make them worse. Heres what he said to avoid:
-cured meats (peperoni, lunch meats..etc)
-chocolate
-MSG (in sauces, chinese food)
-alcohol

Anyways... hope it helps.

I agree with the comment^ I would have to add that other common triggers are any foods that are fermented or have nitrates.  Also, anything that can have mold on the outside of the food, even foods made from mold, such as cheese.  I can't go anywhere near any natural sulfates, which is the family that onions are in, so this includes garlic and ginger, too.  Another trigger for me is corn, which is in so many products on the market, like most of your snack foods.

My neurologist reminded me of a common trigger of migraines that I already knew was bad for people with migraines:  MSG.  He said MSG is also called UMAMI.  He was concerned because I had mentioned using a natural sea salt that is called REAL SALT.  It's that red sea salt that is often sold in natural bulk foods sections of grocery stores.  I think it was the name of the salt that threw him, but it's just a natural sea salt.  What we must avoid is something called NO SALT, which is actually MSG.  We definitely must avoid this manmade additive called MSG.

Chocolate was mentioned already.  Another common culprit is citrus fruits.  Also, melons, such as canteloupes, since the mold that is often on the outsides of the fruit will get into the inside of the fruit and trigger migraines.  All melons are out for me, since they cause other reactions in me.  But, I do know that canteloupes often have that dusty greenish mold on the outside of the fruit that enters into the inside of the fruit itself, making it bad for those of us with migraines.  Too bad, because this mold doesn't actually spoil the fruit itself and would normally be safe for people, since it's on the outside of the fruit.  Sometimes this mold is on the outsides of citrus fruits and affects those of us who get migraines.
