Why do I pass out all the time?

I have had a constant 24/7 headache for twenty (20) years and have had every test, medication known to mankind!

I am currently on serious doses of morphine twice a day plus an savage anti depressant twice daily.

OK, during all this time I accidentally found that if I an a passenger or driver in a car and it is suddenly braked and then accelerated I immediately pass out for up to 10 seconds.

No Doctor has been able to come up with a reason for this and none have tried to work out why.

Believe me there is no MRI or CT scan I have not had and nothing shows up.

I don't plan to be here by Xmas - just tooo tooo much pain I'm afraid!

Thanks Dr and also Coley83, your advices are very much appreciated.

Since my post, I have been placed on a new drug called Lyrica (150 mgs a day) and the results have been quite remarkable to date!

I have but the faintest of headaches now and that is only after three days of the new medication. It is some kind of beta blocker used more commonly for people subject to fits and convulsions but has also proven to be of great value in blocking pain receptors.

An MRI some six months ago came up with a Venous Drainage Problem and though the Neurologist said it could not be a problem, the studies and advices I have come across tend to indicate that this type of problem can be a major contributor to headaches and passing out.

I am off back to my Doc next week for a checkup and will ask him to investigate this one further plus also goiung to see (yet another) ENT specialist to see if I have some inner ear problem that can be causing the passing out business.

Many thanks again!

You might want to look into this:

I saw an episode of Mystery Diagnosis on the Discovery Chanel featuring a woman who had orthostatic intolerance syndrome. She got terrible migraines and would pass out from time to time.

Hi,

Please do not give up without exploring other options.
I would advise you try alternate treatment like acupuncture and yoga. Make sure you do breathing exercises everyday.
Take care!
