I am trying to figure this out also I am 32 and I had one of these er visits last april and yet another yesterday and they treated me like a stroke victim both times to tell me nothing is showing up on any ct mri or blood work it is just migrains I thought it was maby from my birth cotrol and smoking I was told it could be a possibility but no one is sure. I have had shingles and both times I had this happen I was on valtrex and I am trying to figure out if that has something to do with it. Sop just out of curiousity were you on valrtex or something similar?
Thank you
Chell
Hi,
Yes your doctor is right what you have is complicated migraine. It is important to differentiate between complicated migraines and stroke. Since CT scan is clear in your case the possibility of stroke is ruled out.
It is important that you identify the triggers for these migraines by maintaining a headache diary. Red wine, caffeine, processed meats, aged cheese, MSG and artificial sweeteners are common migraine triggers.
I would get the numbness on the left side of my body and face at the onset of a migrain for years. I was always told it was migrain related.
