Any way you can get to a teaching hospital like Cleveland Clinic or Mayo Clinic?  They are the best at EVERYTHING.  Also, go to facebook and type in the group Headache Helpers. It's a new group, and I use the product they mention. It helps me a lot.  I know how you feel!

Hi and welcome to the Migraines & Headaches Community.

You should alert your doctor since it is a significant change.

As far as OTC remedies a few suggestions are...
Ice or warm pack....whichever is more comfy to you.
Wrap something kind of snug around your head...like a cloth headband or a bandanna. Putting a bit of pressure on those dilated blood vessels really seams to help.
You can also put Mentholatum on your forehead and temples...you can do this with or without the wrap depending on if you like the heat or not.
And as far as OTC meds...in my opinion Excedrin is the best. It is a combo of Tylenol, Aspirin and Caffeine which is an excellent combo for migraines.

As I said before, do tell your doctor about the changes whether he wants to give you any meds or not. And keep us posted!
