occular migrane

i had an aneurysm in 1993 near my eye-have had occular migrane since--very strange and weird flashing and shapes-they say nothing can be done-all the eye doctors do is look in my eyes and oooh and ahhh-is there actually anything that can be done--have had several of these--the latest was 2 days ago

Ocular migraine comes under the category of silent migraines.
Sometimes pain killers like Aspirin especially the effervescent type help with symptoms of aura in silent migraine.

there is no pain involved with my occular migranes--i havent had a headache since 1993. why would pain releivers help with these strange images??

Hi,

Ocular migraines are managed on similar lines as classic migraine. The first step is to identify the triggers which can be shellfish, nuts, chocolates, caffeine, alcohol and artificial sweeteners.
You can use a headache diary to identify the trigger for ovular migraines in your case.
Pharmacological treatment includes analgesics, Imitrex and cafergot to abort acute attacks. Biofeedback therapy is also known to help.
I would suggest you to discuss the treatment options with your ophthalmologist.
