waking early morn. migraines constantly

I go to bed without a headache, sleep well for 4 to 5 hours, then fall back to sleep 2 or 3 times
6:00 a.m.   I wake up the second or third time with a painful migraine headache.  The Frova is starting not to have an effect and Imitrex injection works.  What would cause me to continually wake up early mornings
with pounding migraines.  I don't have and endless supply of medicine.  Does any one have an opinion what is going on?
I have a very good diet and don't drink..please advise........thanks

I also have early morning migraines. I took  Depakote nightly to prevent migraines and had Relpax for the ocassional beak through migraine. The Depakote worked well for more than a year, and I had no side effects. It might be worth asking about. When it no longer worked for me, I tried an alternative with bad results. I've ended up taking a 12-hr sinus/allergy pill during the day, a benedryl at night, increased exercise, and am eating better. This seems to work for me most of the time now. Good luck!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi,
How are you? Primary headaches such as cluster, migraine and tension-type headaches may produce a headache that awakens an individual in the early morning hours or is present upon awakening. Withdrawal effects from pain medications, ergots and caffeine also produce this pattern sometimes. During the early morning hours,  the body tends to produce less of its natural painkillers and adrenalin is released in larger quantities during this time, causing headache attacks. Inform your doctor if your present medications are not helping for proper management. A change of medication or dosage may be indicated. Take care and regards.

Welcome to the site and to the community. You have come to a place where people are very supportive and have a lot of information. I would like to point out that
as the information on your left says, this is only my personal advice and you should always consult a doctor with problems first. Also, while it is
understandable to want information or advice about medication/s you should never alter or stop without speaking to the prescribing doctor first.
The advice I give is from personal knowledge and or experience, this does not mean I am a health professional or that my advice should be
taken over a health professionals. If I am not able to help, rest assured there will probably be more people to help.
