I liked acupuncture I think it really helped but I have to pay of an emergency room visit.
Without knowing that I was having symptoms, I did do both. I've had varied experiences with the acupuncture. The massage always helps.
The acupuncture made my forearm spasm, but later it felt better. I did that treatment for tennis elbow.
Then recently after this flare up I had it done in the back of my neck, and upon walking out my head was twitching. The doc also gave me an adjustment, so I can't say which treatment brought the twitching out. But it lasted three days and it was something that had cleared up a couple of weeks before I had been treated.
I don't think there was any lasting damage from it, but I'm leery to do it again, both the adjustments and the acupuncture.
All in all, I view acupuncture in a favorable light. It has brought me relief on more than one occasion. It's the same for chiro adjustments. They just aren't for me anymore.
HI VICTORIA,
I DO BOTH - I JUST HAD A LENGTHY ACUPUNCTURE TREATMENT LAST FRIDAY AND I SEE THE MASSAGE THERAPIST THIS COMING WEEK.
I JUST ARRANGED THE ACUPUNCTURIST TO SPEAK HERE AT WORK IN A FEW WEEKS ON WELLNESS AND HAVE THE BROCHURE ON MY DESK HERE - IT LISTS MANY OF THE FOLLOWING PROBLEMS AS BENEFITING FROM ACUPUNCTURE THAT ARE RECOGNIZED BY THE NIH -
ANXIETY
CHRONIC FATIGUE
DEPRESSION
DIZZINESS
INCONTINENCE
MIGRAINE
PAIN
TRIGEMINAL NEURALGIA
UTI'S
I FIND IT VERY, VERY BENEFICIAL AND WISH I COULD GO MORE OFTEN.
DO YOUR RESEARCH AND TALK TO THE PERSON WHO WILL BE DOING EITHER TREATMENT AND MAKE SURE YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH THEM. TRUST IS A LARGE PART OF THE TREATMENT.
IN EUROPE BOTH OF THESE ARE RECOGNIZED AS IMPORTANT AND SUPPORTED BY THE INSURANCE/GOVERNMENT IN THE PAYMENT FOR SERVICES. I WISH THAT WERE THE SAME HERE.
YOU'RE LUCKY YOUR HUSBAND UNDERSTANDS THE NEED TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF.
HUGS, LULU
