I have been experiencing some visual problems for several years with what I can only describe as vibrating or flickering vision. It is apparent when I'm in the store looking at shelves, or rows of text closely packed together, another culprit is oriental carpets. They seems to vibrate or flicker. It goes away completely when I close either eye.
I have had MRI, cat scan, eeg, numerous eye test with ophthalmologists, neuro optometrist, retina specialists, ENT and 2 neurologists, one of whom I just saw recently. He tried me on low doses of topomax but to no avail. He did not advise to do any more MRI scans. Anyway, He has refered me to a neuro opthalmologist who I see next week. I am sure he will probably want to do more scans.
The only thing that the neuro told me is that I have a slight nystagmus in my right eye after doing some tests. Apart from this, all tests over the years have come back negative with better than 20/20 vision and excellent hand eye coordination. The latest neurologist just said that there is actually nothing wrong with my eyes or my brain and that it is something that's just very slightly off in my visual system.
Anyway, I would really like to know if anyone else has experienced anything like this and if so, did anyone get any relief from this or find out what the problem was.
Thanks so much!
