Post viral myelitis

I have been suffering from post viral myelitis for 30 months.  On my MRI it did show areas of demylenation.  Would plasma exchange be an appropriate procedure to ask for at this time

Hi there!

While plasma exchange is the treatment of choice in acute cases, it may not be an effective treatment in chronic cases; though it would be best to discuss the situation and the management plan in detail with your treating neurologist.
Hope this information is helpful.

Take care!
