I was diagnosed with a Pappilary/Apendamona and operated on 3 months ago, microscopically. Total removal of the tumor was not possible and 70% was removed. Subsequent MRIs have not shown the remainder of the tumor. The biopsy came back as benign (non-cancerous).
I am now faced with the decision of agreeing to having Radiation Treatments after 2 successful MRIs. The reason, from the Neurosurgeon, is that I will have a better chance of a tumor not reoccurring.
QUESTION: If Radiation only attacks malignant cells, how in the world would this help by eliminating any fragments of the 'Pappilary Tumor in the Pineal Area' if it were benign?
We meet with the Radio Oncologist on Tuesday...I would appreciate any personal views so I can form some intelligent questions.
