When I woke up this morning, lifted my head and looked out my bedroom door into adjacent living area, I wondered why the outside porch light had gone out during the night because the area was dark in the morning predawn hours. I laid my head back down, closed my eyes and looked again and saw the light from the porch filtering in and noticed the light had in fact been on. I was awake at first and had lifted my head and clearly looked out over the adjacent room, made effort to see because I noticed everything was dark and saw nothing but darkness and can only assume this was temporary blindness. I haven't experience headaches or anything, no new stress, though sometimes my vision is a little blurry and the past few days I've had a couple snot-blurs pass across my eyes but didn't really take notice as anything to be concerned about. Should I be concerned? I'm middle aged and have had good eye sight my entire life -- 2 episodes of Iritis 8-10 years ago. Please advise. No insurance at the moment so please dont' advise doc visit unless really necessary. And thanks so much.  A little scared.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
you might be focussing on your blind spot, try eye movements by exercising your eye ball in all directions. See if you are in fatigue, ans see that you sleep properly and you are not in stress.
If it does not help visit a neurologist/ophtalmologist as something is comressing your optic nerve or some anomaly in your brain. Take care and go for good consultation.
