What is it?

September 14 2007 Within 24 hours of being bitten on the hand by an unknown spider or insect (coincidence?) in bed one morning I was struggling to walk unaided. Initially I had strong lower back pain. In hospital I received red-back spider anti-venom.(I did not have red-back symptoms actually) I have had MRI I have had many blood tests. EVERYTHING comes back clear.
This 'episode' lasted about 4-5 weeks with me hardly going anywhere or doing much in order to recover as I discovered activity hindered my progress. My own Dr thought it might be something that was a one-off event and no need to worry as by the time I saw him I was near normal. But December 19 after a bout of housework I became incapacitated again. I rested.I describe my walking as sluggish, waddling or wooden legs. I would get an unbelievable inability to walk any further after going uphill about 20 yards. Stairs were the same. I could not go on without a rest. Different Dr (mine was on holiday) said it was nothing 'major'- a virus. Since Jan 28 I have had another 'episode'. Some days I walk as though nothing is wrong and some days I feel as though I need oiling.I don't really have pain, a bit of back ache sometimes or general dullness in my hips and legs. I decided to try acupuncture and unfortunately each of 3 sessions has triggered an episode of not walking properly. I won't go again. What is it? How do I cope with this mystery? Thanks

Thank you for your interest and speedy response. I have since been to neurologist who plans another MRI. Previous MRI in September showed nothing abnormal. He seems to be testing for TM and MS He says only blood test not normal is autoimmune. I now have tingling in left thigh.
I went to dentist this week and went into shock after anesthetic which affected my mobility for a few days. I am worried about dental treatment booked for Tuesday 29 April. Should I continue?
