Whose heard of this?? HELP

Ever heard of this???
Last month a MRI revealed a possible low-grade glioma, astrocytoma, or possible demyelinating lesion. I got a second MRI five weeks after the first that showed this thing is still the same as it was a month ago. I found a good doctor at Mass General in boston and he's inclined to think that it is a developmental abnormality in my head and that it has always been there. Has anyone ever heard of developmental abnormalities in the brain?

Hi, I got my MRI report today and it stated the considerations for a diagnosis included Cortical Dysplasia or a low-grade Neoplasm. Do those two look that similar on a MRI scan? My next MRI is scheduled in 10 weeks, don't know if I should seek another opinion or wait the 2 months. I got my first opinion at a world renown cancer center in Boston. (MassGeneral).  However I'm still having alot of pressure on the top of my head and down into my ears. Can a growth in the back of the head create pressure in the ears? Especially in opposite ear of the mass. I went to an ENT and he said my ears looked great. Can anxiety cause earaches, pressure?? What else to do??Thankyou for you input..

Hi,

Since you have ear ache and pressure in the ears, it will be good if you can get an ENT examination done. The ENT exam will rule out ear infections and sinusitis. Sinusitis can cause foggy headed feelings and sense of pressure in the head and ears.
Pins and needles sensation can be due to fear and anxiety.
Please keep me posted!

I am not a doctor but I do suffer with anxiety.  The symptoms that you have described can definitely be related directly to anxiety.  And of course, with what you are going through, you would be very anxious.  Did you have these symptoms before this diagnosis?  What happened that you were told to get an MRI?  I hope that you are feeling better and more at ease with the doctor's diagnosis.

The MRI revealed a left Occipital Lesion. My nuero-surgeon at MassGeneral said only time will tell exactly what it is. He said he doesn't want to do a needle biopsy because it is kinda deep and could carry a risk. He says if it doesn't change, which it hasn't in the past month, then it is more likely a developmental abnormality. He said if is was malignant that there more than likely would have  been a change in the past month. But I'm feeling a pressure in the top of my head, like something is trying to pop out. I have a very foggy/heavy headed feeling, I just don't feel sharp. I have prickly pins and needle feeling in my limbs. I sure some of this is attributed to stress, but i'm scared. In the past two weeks I've been feeling a ache and pressure in my right ear, like a regular ear ache. My nuerologist said the two don't have anything to do w/one another, but i'm not convinced. Should I get a second opinion?I thought MassGeneral was the best of the best? I'll check and see what he is suspecting.
