neurology

took our mother into ER sunday very early with the most severe headache...they did blood work, CTSCAN, MRI, MRA....nothing show up,  they think maybe inflammation of nerves. She was given in hospital pain meds., antibiotic, iv fluids, and nerve blocking meds......nothing really helped...the meds took edge off but never has the pain gone....it is now Friday she was sent home on wed. still having pain that worsens when up for periods of time and sitting also makes it worse...in the hospital she was feeling like she was drunk, not really dizzy or light headed just woozie.....at home she is using a walker so she doesn't fall.....the pain started on top of forehead then to top and moved to base of skull......her medical history is....nothing much but about 5 years ago she had bad hernia which they did surgery....over 5 pounds of her digestive system was pushed in to chest cavity her stomach was on her heart....once they put everything back her heart went into AFIB and she has had that issue since, she since is on blood thinner and rhythm meds only....her hernia's are back sadly.....but this pain in her head is wearing her down, we need some thoughts as what could be going on, what else should we have her tested for, she has family history of aneurysm and several  types of cancers, hardening of arteries........any thoughts would so be helpful and much appreciated for this family who needs answers

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi!
I am sorry to hear about your mother’s medical problems. Sinusitis, refractive errors of the eye, migraine, cluster headaches, brain tumors and aneurysms, high blood pressure, stress, tension headaches, temporal arteritis, pinched cervical spinal nerve, TMJ,  poor or disturbed sleep etc are several causes of headaches. Dental pain and ear ache due to infection or impacted wax can cause similar symptoms.
Of these the brain related causes may have been ruled out by MRI/CT scan etc. Please discuss with doctor regarding other causes.  Hope this helps. Take care!

The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
