Track your eating. Drink a gallon of water a day. Eat at least 1200-1400 calories. If you dont eat enough your body will go into starvation mode and as someone that has been anorexic and bulimic it may help u lose weight at first but once u try eating normal the weight will just build and build. I finally found a good regime for me with a support group (which really helps!). I lost two inches on my waist in too weeks but it was from intense workouts and eating right. As for turning vegan (I was one for many many years and am working back, stopped cuz I wanted to eat fish while pregnant) it will only help u lose weight if u do it right and u must work slowly into it. I would suggest as a start to drink almond milk (silk original) as a start ot even if u dont plan on turning vegan.
Losing weight quickly is never good and causes yo yo effects. Regardless to one of the comments earlier swimming is the number 1 best over all total body work out. Have you ever seen a fat swimmer??? No. As for losing 5 lbs in one week that is probably mostly water weight and not actual fat loss. You need to find your calorie maintenance number and shoot to be calorie deficient by no more that 500 to get the body to lose weight healthily. Exercise at least 4-5 days a week for a min of 30-45 min but no more than 1-1.5 hours. Use weights and interval/circuit training to boosts your bodies metabolic rate and reduce you carb intake to about 20-30% of your total daily calories. Focus more on proteins from lean meats and vegetables such as broccoli. It takes more energy for you body to break down the protein and it will not cause drastic insulin spikes and fat storage.
Ive been limiting myself to only 500 calories a day and been walking 2 miles everyday too already down 5 ibs and its only been 1 week
Start a vegan diet and jump rope for quickest slimming without building large muscles. Any weightbearing exercise, be it walking, running, elliptical, vigorous dancing, running up and down stairs, whatever, can burn calories and tone. Other good exercises include Pilates, yoga, lifting weights, karate, biking ... many choices. Just MOVE. Sweating itself is not the object, although exercise may lead to sweating. Swimming is nice for toning, but it doesn't burn enough calories to cause significant weight loss.
