Hi ksgirl22, how are you doing? How is your foot pain? Is it a doctor who had asked you to get MRI foot and have you been followed up? "A ganglion is a swelling that is filled with thick jelly like material. They usually occur on the back of the wrist but they do occur near other joints or near tendons (like in your case where it is in your foot). They usually occur in young adults. It is not known why they occur". For more details refer:

Depending on the discomfort, pain and any limitation of foot movement you can discuss the excision option with your attending surgeon or consult an orthopedician. Take care and update on progress.
