Plantar Faciitis not going away (1 year later)

Hi.  I am a 46 year old male and cant seem to get rid of my plantars faciitis.  I have had 3 cortizone injections over the last year and a half and each time it fixes the problem.  But it returns again after 6 months.  I roll a soup can on my foot in the morning and during the day, I have a splint I wear for a few hours while sleeping, I have heal supports in all of my shoes, I stretch my feet according to everything I have read, but it simply wont go away.  It is so frustrating.  I stopped running my 1 mile a day for over 2 months in hopes that that would help but it did not.  I also bought new running shoes just in case.  I also bought harder inserts for my dress shoes.   I dont know how to get this under control.   Please help.

Can you find a good chiropractor?  I found chiropractic treatment on the foot works best for plantar fascitis.

I know of one in Washington, Michigan, or Illinois if you are anywhere near those places. If you want the info please let me know.

I hope this helps,

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there!

Managing plantar fasciitis can be difficult at times since there is no definite cure and management is usually symptomatic with stretching/ physiotherapy, orthotic devices, anti-inflammatory medications, ultrasound therapy, ECSW therapy etc. In a few unresolving cases surgical measures may be considered. I would suggest considering a review with your treating orthopedician for suggestion of an appropriate management plan.
Hope this helps.

Take care!
