CT Results back

The doctor filling in for my GP doesn't speak very good English but it appears that they found a 7 cm fibroid in my uterus and a 9 x 16 cm cyst on my right ovary.  Now they are finally going to try and get me into a gynecologist.  Let's hope that doesn't take too long.  Morrowville, you had a combination of items in you didn't you?

Thanks for the input - unfortunately I didn't think to ask for copies of the test results.  I am expecting I'll hear where and when the appointment is tomorrow.  I just want this stuff out of me!

When I 1st started to have problems the referring office called and got me a pretty fast appointment. I call my regular Gyn and they got me in even faster so I was able to can-x the apt the referring Dr. made.
Also just a suggestion... ask for the Dr. Medical Assistant and explain to them about your symptoms and how long you have been going through your struggles with all of this What test you have had done and where they were done at.... (out here the clinics can pull up all the test done at the hospitals here) if your clinics and hospitals are not set up for that drop off copies of your test results and dr notes to the GYN you are going to see that way that DR can look them over before your apt (I would also bring another copy of all that to your Dr apt. Dr office can misplace anything) the bonus to dropping off paperwork is that if the Dr has time and reviews it he may bump up your apt. Also the person you set your apointment with can not open up any saved apts the dr might have BUT thier MA (medical assistant) can so if there is a sooner apt they can pop you in the open spot.
If you do not have a regular GYN and so don't know the name of any GYN's MA feel free to ask q-tions when you make the appointment like .... is there anything I sound be doing or could be doing to between now and my apt. Most up front office help do not have med training and so will refer you to the MA
good luck with appointment hunting

I did have a combination of fibroids, cysts, and tumors (just in case there was something ELSE to have in there or leave out!)

Be sure to ask all the "good" questions when you get to see a gyn... not the least of which should be "will there be an onc there or consulting when I have the work done"?

I had several fibroids, a dermoid cyst (8.5 x 6.5) and something called a mature teratoma, all successfully removed, and almost 4 weeks post op, I am feeling better than I have in such a long time!  I get tired easily, but other than that, I am completely off pain meds, and I actually started working from home already today!  I plan to be back in my office either next week or the following--what a miracle!

I hope you have the same outcome I did, and will be telling us all it was a piece o' cake!

God Bless
