I have been scouring the internet and trying to find all information I possibly can but I cannot see anything related to a soft tissue fold or crest in the posterior wall. Specifically this was my result: "4.8 x 3.5 x 3.4 cm, volume 30 cc, previously 6.1 cc. There is a new cyst with soft tissue fold or crest in the posterior wall, 4.1 x 3.1 x 3 cm, 19.3 cc. Impression: New mild complex left ovarian cyst, 4.1 cm in the maximal dimension, cystic neoplasm cannot be excluded."
It says new cyst, but we know it isn't new because it has been there since at least January, and possibly since late last September after my hysterectomy. I am 42 and had my uterus and cervix removed last Septermber due to adenomyosis and extreme bleeding and cramping. I kept both ovaries and later it was discovered that I had cervical pre-cancer (C1N1) on the pathology report.
This is the history I've put together from various scans:
9/ 22/15 Ultrasound (for post surgical pain) - 2.6 x 2.2 x 2.0 cm, volume 6.1 cc. Normal echotexture and blood flow. (Was suggested this was just a normal corpus luteum cyst, no worries).
1/1/16 CT Scan (was in the ER for kidney stones..yowch!) 3.3 x 3.4 x 3.6 cm left ovarian cyst noted (this was again suggested just a corpus luteum cyst)
I fell off a ladder in May and started/ having increased hip, low back, butt and leg pain which was and has been increasing so was sent for MRI a few weeks ago and this was the result: 3.6 x 4.2 cm in diameter upper left adnexal cyst or cyst-like structure with mild peripheral nodularity/irregularity, central fluid signal is present. Impression: 3.6 x 4.2 cm left upper adnexal cyst or cyst-like structure, this could be further characterized sonographically.
I was told results from that MRI would be sent to my doctor in 2-3 days, however I was called the very next morning and instructed to set up an appointment with a gynecologist. When I saw her several days later, she sent me for an Ultrasound and the above about the soft tissue fold/crest is what was the result from that.
I have been experiencing some pretty major bowel issues, pain and pressure that have just been slowly building and getting worse over the last month or two. I've also had major ups and downs and at times, just total rages! Also major bloating, but it does seem to come and go but I cannot stand any pressue anywhere on my tummy. I wear the loosest pants/shorts possible and can't even stand just regular plain old underwear. I walk around the house holding my shorts up because they are so loose. I'm also very tired, at times I'm peeing constantly all day and other times barely going at all and it almost feels like it's not all coming out. My left side has become increasingly tender and there's this constant like, pulling feeling under my left rib cage. I've come to dread trips to the bathroom due to this pain, but my doctor doesn't seem all that concerned and says she'll do laparoscopic surgery sometime in November to remove the cyst and check for adhesions etc from my hysterectomy. A CA-125 was done and my result was only 8 so it seems like she's very unconcerned that there's cancer, and my risk is fairly low.
I cannot see going through this pain for another month or two, but all my attempts to get them to speed up the surgery have been met with we will try (with no results and I get the feeling they are not) and even 'maybe I should see someone about my anxiety'. This doctor has wonderful reviews, and I am constantly hearing how great she is, but all I can see is my suffering right now and I cannot believe I'm not being taken seriously.
Is this common? Does my result suggest any specific type of cyst? I saw the tissue thing and also what looked like a papillary projection during my ultrasound that wasn't noted on the result, but in looking at my scan (which I received a copy of), it's clearly there. Small, but there. Is my risk of cancer really that low that waiting at this point is ok? Or should I be more demanding of getting immediate care? I have been emailing them daily and I'm pretty sure they are tired of me, but this is my health and I'm beginning to get pretty freaked out and very frustrated! I spent an hour in the bathroom early yesterday morning, almost feeling like I had the urgency of diahrea but was constipated at the same time. I have felt the pressure for a long time and have had what they described as a trapped nerve in my vaginal cuff which started about 2 months after my hysterectomy. It's a tender sharp pained spot that comes and goes, but now I'm wondering if that could be related to this cyst as well. I feel it most during bowel movements, and for awhile it wasn't bad but things are definitely getting worse. I can't eat much and feel nauseated at times (although I've had gastric sleeve so it's hard to say if that is from this or that) and I have major gas and bloating.
I would have said something to my doctor about the bowel stuff earlier, but since I have been on percocet for the last couple of months due to the chronic back, butt, leg etc pain, I just assumed I was constipated from that and have been working on making sure I drink enough and eat enough fiber and take stool softeners, et.
Sorry this got so long! I just wanted to be sure to include all the information so if anyone has any experience or advice for me, I would soooooo very much appreciate it!
(Some other health history: PCOS with rarely any periods and weighed 300lbs until gastric sleeve 3 and a half years ago. Lost 100 lbs and started having regular periods again, however they were super heavy and painful, so had hysterectomy and cervix was also removed due to a positive high risk HPV test, but both ovaries were left. Still about 40 lbs or so overweight and have struggled with losing it due to all I have had going on. Also is very likely that I have Lupus as I seem to have flares of things and a laundry list of weird symptoms, but this is only my speculation right now. Also, literally cannot stay awake without stimulant medication and have (pretty severe and disabling, seriously can't function) ADD)
