hi, new just have a question

im 16...i feel pain sometimes at the bottom of my belly...so there was this one time the pain was alot and hurt wen i pee so my pediatrician sent  me to get an ultra sound and see a gynecologist (my biggest fear is going to see them) but that would be the 3rd time so i was knowing wa t to expect. so i got the ultrasound and the report said that cyst and my left ovary doubled in size compared to the one i had 2 years before. so then i go to the GYNO and she tells me its 6cm , is that big? no? idk but she said to get a follow up in three months and i reminded my dad three times but he like ignored me but i dont feel alot of pain.....the GYNO said that wen i come back if the cyst didnt go away or shrink i would have surgery...how do i know if the syst is still here?

i dont want surgery , i have this fear of waking up in the middle of it

Another ultrasound is needed to determine if it is there.  Let's hope it has resolved itself.  If not a laporascopic surgery may be needed.  You don't need to worry if that is the case.  It really is quite safe.

I understand your concerns, I have cysts on both ovaries and I am having surgery this Friday to remove them, I'm 44.  I have had the problems for over a year now, well I got diagnosed with it over a year ago.  To answer your question about size of the cysts 6cm is the size of a tennis ball, anything larger than 4cm the doctors usually consider surgery depending on how your pain is, what type of cysts it is your age and of course your current health.  You really need to keep on top of this especially since the cysts had doubled in size.  Try to express to your father the importance that you keep the follow-up appointment so your Gyno can monitor you properly.  To see if the cysts are still there the doctor will do another pelvic ultrasound and possibly a vaginal ultrasound to get a better look.
