Don't know if this will help you or not but I am diagnosed with PCO (polycystic ovaries) I had lazer drilling of the stroma to help me ovulate.  I had a 10cm cyst on one ovary and a 6cm on the other that were removed during that surgery.  1 week later I made a 5cm that grew to 11cm in 3 wks and a 4 cm that grew the same.  It depends on your body I guess. they never offered as to why this happened.

Drained cysts can easily fill up with fluid again. Fully removed cysts are gone for good, but completely new ones can grow at any time, or never again. Nobody can predict what the ovary will do after cyst removal. I know, it is a disappointing thing to hear.

I had a hysterectomy for endometriosis, they left my right ovary for hormones. He had drained the cysts on that ovary and by my six week post op visit the cysts were already back.
