complex cyst with septation v little normal ovary tissue remains!

hi i have no previous history of ovarian cysts and on a previous scan approx 2 years ago showed normal healthy ovarie.
i have had years of ongoing bladder and pelvic pain and ongoing sterile pyria.i have adhesions and am in reguklar pain particularly at menstruation. have regular periods, lots bloating was diagnosed ibs approx 10 years. had many tests/treatment inc laparoscopy. am 40 years old.
last week ultrasound revealed complex ovarian cyst with single septation and just small piec of normal ovarian tissue remaining. cyst measured 5cm x 6cm no free fluid or other mass normal echo. it is on my left ovary and i have started having nagging pain in small of back kidney area and far left side of abdomen. i am awaiting appt with gnae. hating the wait! will i be likely to face surgery? meaning more adhesions! and could it be cancer? worried about the septation!

I think you've posted a duplicate post. ..It would be better to keep only one post going about the same subject, otherwise it gets confusing.. Thanks,
Sandy

Hi there.  The waiting and wondering are so hard.  It is good you are getting this addressed.  Over 95% of cysts are benign.  Your doctor will decide if he will do surgery now or wait a couple of months to see if it resolves itself.  Generally if you are in a lot of pain (and your pain is indicative of cysts) they will opt to get it done.  Based on the size they can probably do it laporascopically.  This allows you to have just a couple of small incisions in your abdomen instead of open surgery.  You will recover much quicker too.  Please keep us posted on your appointment.
