Scarring from an ovarian cyst doesn't happen that much, depending on what kind of cyst it was. If it was a garden-variety fluid-filled cyst, it would drain pretty much as a matter of course within two or three months after you got it and not cause scarring. If the pain you are feeling is associated with your periods, it is also less likely to be ovarian in nature, since scar tissue on an ovary hurts during that ovary's ovulation, not during the period.
If you are having very painful cramps, it could be endometriosis or something else, not related to the earlier cyst. I would ask your ob-gyn for better and further diagnosis of why your periods are painful. If there is a possibility to get an MRI of your uterus and ovaries, and/or a laparotomy to visualize the internal organs and look for endometriosis, that should give you some answers, but be guided by what the doctor suggests.
Sorry, just re-read your post and it sounds like you are saying that the cramps are whether or not you are having a period? That sounds more like adhesions. I would press the doctor for an MRI of the abdomen. Scar tissue would show up on an MRI.
I have fluid filled cysts i have already been diognosed they rupture every month its been on going since i was like 12 or 13 and yes i cramp on during before and after my period not everyday just whenever they feel like it i guess
im just thinking because i have delt with them rupturing for so long that maybe they cause scare tissue idk just not to sure what do do anymore its to the point now that im used to the pain when it happend and im young i shouldent have to deal with all of this if there is something that can be done to help thank you though im think i got an MRI when they diognosed me and i had a few ultrsounds after that to monitor growth and so forth its been awhile though so im thinking that pressing for an MRI would be a good idea thank you very much
