Hi,
What has your Dr. suggested ? And, have you had this cyst for awhile or have they just discovered it? Many times they will monitor it to see if it enlarges or simply disappears.
The CA-125, as Trudie said, is unreliable in pre menopausal women as there are so many other things that can elevate the results.
Let us know what your Dr. is suggesting .

Do you know what size the cyst is? I'm not sure what you mean by lt and pt but I will do my best to answer your question.
Don't be too concerned about the CA125 since it is quite unreliable in pre-menopausal women. It can be increased if you have endometriosis, an infection, and sometimes just because of the cyst. Over 95% of all cysts are benign.
Depending on the size of the cyst they will either do a laparscopic removal (a few small incisions and quicker recovery for smaller cysts) or a laparotomy (binkini cut and open surgery for larger cysts). There is a chance that the ovary and tube may need to be removed as well, depending upon whether they are compromised. If you do have a laparscope there is still a chance that if they run into any issues or feel that the cyst is malignant that they will have to open you up with a laparotomy.
Who is doing your surgery? We generally recommend that a gyn/onc do the surgery. This doesn't mean you have cancer but with 3 more years of training they are the most experienced to handle and in the slight chance there is cancer the pathology can be tested during surgery and the operation adjusted to remove anything required.
Good luck.
