It sounds like Fibromyalgia.  I have the same symptoms.  The pain down the leg can be from constipation.  You didn't mention if you were or not.  The neck stiffness, migraines are very similar to disc issues in neck but if they are not consult a rheumatologist about fibromyalgia.  Also, are you under a lot of stress? Stress can have very dramatic effects on the body.

it is with bowl movement.... i feel rude stating that on here, i'm sure everyone doesn't want to hear that....i'm just scared and hoping that someone could give me and idea or advice or something and i thank you for replying to me....its scary when nothing shows up on something like an mri and you know that you are hurting and you are definately not making it up....i've read horror stories on here and other places where doctors tell people they are making things up or just simply crazy...and i know i'm not...so i'm scared to death that he will not see anything on the mri for my back and accuse me of making these things up.....who would even make such things up, and why?!?!? it makes no sense to me.....

Hi Kimberly,

Welcome to the Pain Mangement Forum at MedHelp. I am so glad that you have found us. But I am sorry to hear about your undiagnosised pain.

Many of us of been where you are, indeed some of our members till are there. I recall the years of being afraid something would finally show up on a test and being terrified that nothing would. Unless you have undiagnosised chronic pain what I just said may be hard to understand. You get it.

I'm sorry but I do not know what could be going on with you. Have you seen a rheumatologist, a urologist and a gastroenterologist?  Those specialities should cover your symptoms. Often pain can be referred, meaning felt in one area but actually originating in another.

I had horrid hip, outer leg, groin and some minor low back pain. No physician could find the source of my pain as initially my symptoms were varied and seemed vague to them. I was labeled everything but legitimate. I gave up after four or five years and suffered in silence. Than one day quite by accident a new physician that I was seeing for another reason diagnosed me in just two visits. I have severe (sacroiliac joint) SIJ Dysfunction. Because I had given up and I went untreated for so long there is now nothing that can be done for the condition. I tell this story because I don't want this to happen to anyone else. Keep searching, don't give up and don't let this happen to you.

You stated that when you go to the bathroom pain shoots into your spine. Is that with bowel movements, urination or both? That would seem to be related to a spinal issue but not always. So please see the specialists that treat bowel and bladder issues.

Stiff and achy joints (including the spine) could be from an inflamatory condition or disease. There are many types, some common and some not so common. The rheumatologist would have the best answers for you if it is an inflamatory condition.

A consult with an endocrinologist may also be beneficial as they look at the complex  endocrine system that when not functioning properly can cause painful symptoms.

And remember that imaging does not always reveal every thing. It is not failure proof. Indeed many a surgeon has been surprised at their findings when an MRI or CAT scan either showed little or nothing until surgery confirmed a gross abnormality.

Best of luck to you. Please let us know how you are doing. We will look forward to your updates. Our community is here for you. I beleive you will find our members to be supportive, encouraging and informational.

Take Care,
Tuck

I really have no idea what would be causing this, but I do want to wish you the best.  I hope you find a doctor that will treat you propery and find out what is going on.  I know this may sound weird, but have you been tested for lymes disease?  Lymes has many symptoms and it can be very dangerous, my husbands cousin just about died from it just this past summer.  My 6 year old also had lymes, but I saw the deer tick and I was able to watch for the signs.  I do hope you find out what is wrong.  Take care.
