aw sara im sorry you havent found your kitty yet! But dont give up hope! As you can see from some of our stories above, cats are notorious for vanishing days or even weeks at a time and finding their way back eventually! I have faith your kitty will be found safe and sound! Hang in there! And btw shame on those people trying to take advantage of you! SICK!!! All I can say about that is.........KARMA.......i believe in karma and have seen it at work many times!
I'm sorry I've been away but I've spent every waking hour trying to locate Mousey Tongue. Oh, and he was named after the Chinese Evil Dictator, Mao Tse Tung. I figure all cats are evil dictators at heart!
No word just a lot of folks who want a lot of money to locate him for me. Even a psychic who lives far away. Parasites. I've posted flyers everywhere conceivable spot. Scoured the internet and am now faxing flyers to vets and shelters outside my city. The microchip service takes care of a 25 mile radius.
I haven't had anywhere enough sleep and the stress levels are through the roof. So is the pain. I need to lay down for a while.
Thank you all for your good wishes and thoughts!
Sara
Sara,
Couldn't help but think of you and your kitty.
Any good news yet???
Hugs,
~Tuck
Oh Sweetie I am so very sorry for you.
Of course I will say a prayer for you. I saw your post shortly after it went up and have been praying for you and your kitty since. I apologize it have taken me this long to post.
I agree, don't give up. Cat's have a way of wondering about and showing up back home out of no where. I know your heart is broken and I feel your pain. I too have lost a pet that was like a family member.
I'll be thinking of you and your kitty....and you both will be on my thoughts and prayers. Again don't give up...and keep us updated.
Gentle ((HUGS)) to You,
~Tuck
I'll definitely pray for the safe return of your darling kitty.I have three dogs and one cat .My cat took off one time and was gone for a week .I was devastated ! A week later he just reappeared .I was so glad to see him.I am sure your kitty will return .Try to relax and not stress too much .Cats do this sometimes .I have had more than one to take a sudden vacation and they always came home.I hope he returns soon .I know it's hard not to freak out and think the worst .Take care Melissa
Sara,
Don't give up hope...
I run a pet alert system here where I live - it helps tremendously when you can email a picture and info regarding the lost pet to as many people around you as possible - that along with the flyers, calls to the animal clinics in your area... etc.. will help to bring him home.
We have had cats missing for 3 weeks (even a little longer) and they come home. Some come home on their own and some are found from all the communication sent out.
Sometimes someone will be taking care of a cat, not knowing he is missing - but the more people you can reach, the chances are they will hear about it and call you.
Also put a photo and number front and center at your grocery store - most of the people around you will go in and out of there numerous times a week and you will reach a lot of people that way.
Don't give up - even if it takes longer than a week or two - we have had every single pet come home that went missing... I am very hopeful your baby will come home, too!!!
With caring thoughts and prayers,
Mummy
I'll be hoping and praying for you to be reunited with your Mousey soon. I'm sure you are very worried and stressing about it, which is probably really elevating your pain. I hope you are able to rest a bit, and not worry too much...Cats are very smart---my son happens to believe that they are THE smartest of all species (and he is 13 now...he once believed he WAS a cat!)...so I am going to think positively that Mousey Tongue will find the way home...very soon:)
Love, Alison
Sara
I really home your kitty comes home very soon. I know how hard it is when you lose a pet. I have 2 yorkies and when my male gets out I really freak out til we get him. My kids and I run after him. I am so thankful for my new home cause it has a fenced in back yard. I would be so lost with out them.
I hope and pray your kitty comes back home to you so you can rest knowing it is safe.

runningmom- i also lost my 'special cat" 5 years ago. I was pregnant with my youngest son at the time and it was very hard to deal with. He was a housecat and my best animal friend in the world, but he slipped out through an opened door and got hit in the road. I was devastated! I still miss him so very much! I've still kept cats since then but none are special to me the way he was, nor will there ever be. I am blessed to have a "special dog" right now too. He's a german shepherd mix (we think mixed with english setter due to this feathery fur on backs of legs, tail, ears etc). He's so beautiful! He's SUPER wtih my kids and is a member of the family as much as the humans are. Pets definitely are therapeutic for us!
I'm so very sorry about your missing kitty!
If any of my animals went missing, I'm not sure what I'd do. Just watching them play & wrestle is more therapeutic than any meditation sessions I can undergo.
My cat's aren't microchipped, but your post has lit a fire under me, and I just made an appointment to have it done. All my dogs are, but for some reason I neglected to do the cats.
I surely hope your sweet Mousey Tongue comes back.
Oh Sara I'm so VERY sad to hear that Mousey Tongue is missing!! I LOVE Kitty Cats!! I understand how DEVASTATED you MUST be. If I was there I'd help you comb ALL of the streets and alleys (if there are any in your area) and call all of the pounds and the S.P.C.A. I know the horrible feeling that you have when your "Baby" is Missing!!
When I moved to AZ I had to put MY Katie Kitty to sleep as it was just too CRUEL to ask her to make another move. I sat and held her as she left me. I cried for days on and off after that. Katie Kitty was 18 1/2 years old and Jean and I had her since she was 6 months old. We got her at the S.P.C.A. and she stayed by my Jean's side thruout his ENTIRE illness NEVER leaving his side the last 5 days of his life. She was VERY special so I know EXACTLY how you feel about Mousey Tongue. (By the way I LOVE that name and can HARDLY wait to hear how he got that name. (I can guess but not SURE if it would be correct. LOL ).
I hope and Pray that he wanders back home TODAY. Of course you can ATTEMPT to get him to tell you WHERE he was BUT you know how TIGHT LIPPED these Kitties can be!!
I love you and hope he's home today!!!.....Mama Sherry
Oh, honey I hope your beloved kitty comes home soon. I hope this is just a big adventure your kitten went on and returns home to you today. I've had this happen to me twice in the past. I have a cat who never left home, but was gone for 3 weeks at a time. I don't know where she went, but she did return home. We were very surprised to see her after 3 weeks. A few years later, she did this again. The good thing about cats is that they can catch their own food.
I will also say a prayer that Mousey comes home soon. Our pets are beloved to us to. I have lost my favorite and dear kitty 4 years ago and there isn't a day where I don't think about him. He was my everything cat and followed me everywhere. He'd try and go with me on my 6 mile runs outside to be by my side.
I do have to tell you something though. I have a golden retriever named Bailey and she has actually bitten 3 times last year at 3-4 months old. She has a bad temperament. She growls now and we work very hard to get her attitude to change. She is just over a year old and she has given us a lot of grief. We love her though and can't imagine life without her. I have to keep a close eye on her at all times.
sorry to hear about your kitty. Ive had many pets come up missing in my life ('Ive always had lots of cats and dogs since I was a kid, and Im nearly 40 now). Is this kitty normally an outdoor cat or strictly housecat who snuck out at an opportune moment? Is he neutered, or could he be out tom-catting around? Be sure to ask all neighbors to check their garages/sheds as many times cats get nosey and check out these places when someone has them opened but then get locked in. Often they will run and hide when someone comes back to open it (say to get a car out and leave- which just scares the cat into hiding in the garage and he/she loses the opportunity to escape and gets locked back in again. Ive had that happen a few times w/my cats. Keep posting fliers and be sure to ask delivery type workers if they have seen the cat (mail deliverers, garbage men (they often see "stray cats eating in trash cans), kids around the neighborhood see everything too. Offer a reward too, even if its a small amount. if the amount is small I wouldnt put the price, just say sometthing like "reward for missing cat", because sadly when money is involved more people will actively look and try and find the cat if they think somethign is in it for them. Its sad but true. Also file a missing report with your local humane society and any other local rescue groups around. A lot of times someone will find a lost pet and call these places to see if someone reported one missing like that. THey will take #s and get you in contact with each other if a matching description gets called in.
Keep the hope. Ive had some cats return after 3+ weeks of being missing!!
