degenerative disc disease options

I have severe degenerative disc disease throughout my spine with numerous problems adding to my pain.  I'm looking into any possible solutions short of ripping my entire spine out and starting from scratch.  I have a hard time taking advice from my pain mgmnt. doctor because all he wants to do is stick needles in me with "hopes" of really helping me but charging an arm and a leg for these procedures.  Does anyone have any experience with a method that actually relieved the pain?  I'm willing to try something but I need input from someone who's been there, not just a doctors' recommendation.

All forms of Degenerative Disc Disease affect each individual differently. What may be causing one person debilitating pain may not cause another as much.

I have herniation's and a bulge down at L4-L5 and L5-S1. At times I can not move as was the case just yesterday and on other days I am not so bad on medication.

You should consult a doctor that just deals with spinal problems, preferably a neurosurgeon. Most orthopedists just keep sticking you with needles and later recommend disc replacement surgery. This surgery was suggested to me by an orthopedist that just deals with the spine but I was not willing to undergo the surgery. I have many other orthopedic problems with my back being the least of my problems so I work with it.

My best suggestion is to see a neurosurgeon.
