My younger sister, who is 14, somewhat frequently will drop to her knees, groan and clutch her head, and is completely unresponsive. It seems to go in batches. She had three a day for five days, two a day for ten days, etc. She only gets a week break between these bursts. Yesterday was the first of this batch, and once she stood up, I asked her what it was like, and she said this: "similar to fainting, except I still sorta hear what's going on around me. Everything is intense. I know what people are going to say before they say it. It's like I'm half passed out. I don't remember what I'm doing or what I'm saying after I have a mind seizure.. I garentee that I won't remember this conversation." Two hours later, I asked her what else she felt and she replied with "What do you mean 'what else'? I didn't tell you anything!"
She's also lost almost all her childhood memories, like her old pets, vacations, minor and major events, she remembers nothing of the past 13 years. She's missed/had to leave school, because she had these mind spasms.
My parents took her to a neurologist, and they did an EEG, but found nothing wrong. They suggested a five day inpatient EEG, which she'll be doing in about two weeks.
Doctors have brought up migrains (which wouldn't make her drop to the ground and have no pain) and Epilepsy, which frankly, I know pretty much nothing about. Light doesn't trigger anything, even if their bright and flashing, like I think it does for most Epileptic cases.
If you have ANY ideas, I'd greatly appreciate hearing them. There's hardly anything more terrifying than seeing your 14 year old sister flop down, groaning, and not getting back up, even if you scream her name and shake her. I just want my sister to feel better.
