My 7 year old son is on day 3 of Azithromycin for a cough that has went on for more than three months. No change. Actualy i think his cough is getting worse what should i do? Our family Dr. Doesn't seem to want to see him, just calls in scripts. I tried finding a new Dr. But thats seems impossible. Advice please!

Cough is worse. Runny stuffy nose, caughing up phlem, called the Dr yesterday to see if the results were in from the x ray and to let them know about the stuffy runny nose. The receptionist said "sounds like he has a realy bad cold." talked to my insurance company they are sending me a provider list.

They kept my third oldest son on antibiotics for the first 5 years of his life because of his coughing...turns out it was asthma.
Now my youngest is doing the same thing.
At least his pediatrician is ruling things out...post nasal drip, acid reflux, and asthma testing.
Take your son to a walk in clinic perhaps.

Thats good news, I am wondering is he has asthma ,if you do take him in ask them ..let us know how he id doing,I dont like the idea of them just filling scripts without seeing the child again

No other symptoms just lots of coughing. He coughed so hard he vomited last night. I re filed his humidifier and that seemed to help. Gave him 4th dose of medicine tonight made sure the humidifier was filled and i havent hear a peep yet. Fingers crosed he at least gets a good nights sleep for once. I'm going to see the meds through. If he coughs even once Thursday i'll take him to the hospital. I do trust my doctor just wish he'd do tests or something heck just be in the same room with him. And i'll keep trying to find a new Doctor.

You do need a second opinion if the cough is still bad and in fact as you say seems worse , its time to see someone else.,or take him to the hospital where there will be other Doctors .It could be he has a viral infection .,has he any fever, any other symptoms?
