My great uncle passed away at 20 years old from it.As generations in your family go on the odd decrease. Say if a direct relative has it the odds are 1 in 3 kids will have it. As a second generation it goes to 1 in 6 of your kids will have it and so forth and so on. When two carriers come together but are both very low odds you build it back up and your child needs to know this while with partners. Its confusing but not something to gjve yourself a heart attack over :)
glad I could help!
Ok thank you it was just a big shock because no one in my family knew anything about it my mom didn't know I was a carrier and when they called me today I just started to freak out a little
No don't worry yourself over it. My whole family is carriers of this disease. Yes the diseases is deadly but the odds of your baby having it are very low. If your husband tests positive for it also it does not mean your baby will have at the odds slightly go up. But they will take the extra step to check for it as soon as your baby is born. If your husband does not test positive then it is likely that your baby will be a carrier like you. It does not mean you have it, it only means that if you're partner and you are both carriers you increase the percentage in your baby and they will need to take more steps when they have a baby and further and further in generation.
