Lice :(

We just found out today that my niece has lice. Her mom is in jail so she's being taken care of by her grandma, my brother in law and us. My mil is at work, my bil had no idea what to do and my hubby is on his way to pick her up from school (the nurse called for us to get her) what is the best and most effective way to deal with this? I'm 34 weeks and on partial bed rest so would cleaning everything really be necessary?

I Know you have alot of people who answred it already, but I just wanted to state that I would have someone help you with the cleaning because you need to do it. the couches, the bed sheets, stuffed animals, certain cloths. bankets. everything! the only reason why i said that is because growing up, I had lice six times! yes six times. I got it from my cousin, after my mom cleand and what not everything, I must have passed it to my best friend when i had it, and her mom didnt do anything but the shampoo, lts just say the other four times having it, it was passed back and forth between me and my friend. Pretty soon my mom was so sick of buying the spray for the couches and the shampoo. She told my best friends mom, to stop being lazy and get on her high end and start cleaning, or else i couldnt hang out with her daughter. :( I am happy to say I have been best friends with my chicka.. for 15 years!

I had lice when I was younger and for me it was really hard to get rid of. You can use RID but it kept coming bach for me. Blow drying her hair alot helps to kill it. I live in plano tx pretty close to you, we have lice shops over here that u can take her too its a little costly but they will clean it all out for you. it might be alot better for u just to let them do it for you since you are on bed rest.  Goggle lice salons in dallas tx and you can get her back in school in no time!

You need a proper over the counter medicated lotion to get rid of them from a pharmacy! Shampoos from shops will not work they may kill the adult lice but will not kill the eggs that will hatch, my kids have yet to catch them thank god but there always going around the school!!

My little cousins have gotten it a couple times, and my aunt washes all the bedding in hot water, puts the lice shampoo in their hair and combs their hair with a lice comb after they've washed it out. Then she started puttin lavender spray in their hair (she read online it keeps them away) and they haven't gotten in again.

And coconut shampoo and conditioner will prevent her from getting them again. That's what the school nurse told my bestie

Wash stuffed animals bed sheets in hot water there is a spray for matresses couches and chairs that u can buy at store... u can either dye her hair, buy lice shampoo from the store, or personally when I was little real mayo worked well... leave it in her hair for 2hrs wash it out go threw her hair little by little picking out dead bugs and eggs then put more mayo in her hair before she goes to bed with hair cover over it until the next morning and wash it out

My school nurse told my mom to put a jar of mayo on my head, and a shower cap over it for one hour. I hated mayo and sat infront of the clock the entire hour just waiting to get it out. It killed tge lice and left my hair sooo silky and soft so I really liked it haha. But it worked.

Yes...you have to clean bedding furniture replace hairbrushes and combs!!! We always used the rid stuff on our hair when i was growing up. (My sisters were friends with this girl whos parents let their house get DISGUSTING & they would always fix each others hair so everytime we turned around they were bringing lice home) and we got the rid stuff for furniture. If u dont clean it all you risk here still being eggs somewhere and getting it again!
