small bump on middle of back of penis

Hello,

I have only had sex with one girl in my life thus far and it was with my girlfriend of a year and a bit.  When we broke up, I fooled around with a few girls, but only resulted in oral sex as I wasn't really ready to have sex with someone different so soon.  But after a few months a bump appeared about half way up my penis on the back side.  It is red and its shape changes, it grows and shrinks.  It also releases a white pus occasionally.  I've had it for about 2 months, been really hoping for it to just go away.  I haven't fooled around with anyone since its appeared as its quite worrisome.  I don't think my ex could have given me anything, we had both been tested in november and everything was fine, we broke up in january.

What could this be?  I've looked at pictures of herpes and it just doesn't look at all the same, but maybe that's just me freaking out about the possibility.  Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, including possible treatment.  I'm sure I'll still have to go to the doctor, I'm just hesitant to do it.  I'm not really a fan of goin to the doctors!  Thanks for any and all help.

It could be a deep ingrown hair.  Sometimes people get so bad ingrown hairs that they need surgery.  Since you said it gets bigger around the time of shaving I am guessing it is an irratation of such sort like an ingrown hair, possibly even a pimple.  But since it's been there for 2 months I would suggest having a doctor look at it, despite the embarrassment it may cause.  Also I would suggest seeing your regular doctor.  I had a strange occcurance in my genital area once and when I went to the clinic they treated me for an std I did not have.  When you go to clinics they are looking specifically for std's so check out your regular doctor because this doesnt sound like an std to me.  But like I say to everyone I am not an expert I just research and know a lot about std's.

It also seems to be related to my shaving of my pubic area.  Each time I shave, it seems to get bigger for a few days.  My skin also shows signs of irritation, a shaving rash that goes away after a few days of shaving, is there any way to avoid this either?
