If only the cultures that so strongly value virginity would place equal emphasis on men's virginity as they do on women's, and on fidelity by men in the marriage as they do on women's.  I don't object to a society using virginity to indicate self-discipline, I object to it being used as a way to evaluate women (and not used to evaluate men).  We hear on this site from women who are desperate to prove virginity on their wedding night, with all kinds of perils to come if they are not.  It is like their virginity is property that the family is selling.  When a society does this to its young men also, then I would believe virginity is truly a stand-in for self-discipline.

(No offense to poster or members who comment). This is just a comment.Since I am from India too.

Virginity, culturally may mean a lot,not only for Indians but for every one who has morals and cherish one's own life.Every culture has more or less the same theories about virginity.Every human values character and relationship with a partner (this idea changes when married with other guy than the one who is the reason for loosing virginity). If not why do lovers couples break up (when dumped and found with another guy),or paranoid feelings of spouse in arranged marriages lead to divorce?Only virginity is not at all a reason making it so important in India,in modern days.It indicates self discipline and having moral values and good insight of healthy sexual relations, character,so that people keep themselves pre orineted with dreams of life but not dreaming on 'Bed'.Sex is just a part of life.

Loosing virginity is a personal choice and a physical reaction of two people taking part in sexual intercourse after emotionally bonding together. This remains the same, since we are all Humans. In modern world, after sex education being taught, couples find an opportunity to participate in sex.But when it comes to marriage, every thing changes. In India it is so important for girls family and especially for marrying men, because virginity is a symbol of character and discipline (as per superstitious societies). But what happens is we ignore both character and self discipline, just pondering upon sexual excitement. But modern boys who know about sex education and morals,I guess Indian culture has so much to teach people about forgiveness, affection, marriage relations and understanding, where such a simple thing like virginity can be ignored and understood, finally being 'Happy couple for ever'.

I see that the poster is from India. Their culture is very different and virginity is important when you get married. I take it this is an arranged marriage?

Reconstruction of Hymen can be done by a Cosmetic Surgeon or Gynecologist of such specialisation, yet it is so expensive and unnecessary surgery if you have to build a human relation.

Virginity has nothing to do in maintaining a good human relation with the partner (your fiancee).Hymen layer presence or bleeding after first intercourse (the first night intercourse with 'this' new guy) does not prove that you are honest, faithful and a good child. Rather than trying to reconstruct your vagina, consider reconstructing your life with this 'Happy Guy' with trust, honesty, affection and love.

If you still have a problem figuring out, suggest you to undergo Premarital counseling with a counselor (first you and then the couple),to learn happy ways of living together. All The Best!

I do not think you can recreate your hymen.  Do you think your husband will actually be looking at it and measuring?  If you are nervous on your wedding night and not lubricated, it will hurt enough and feel tight enough that he will probably not be able to tell.  If you live in a society that places a high premium on the woman proving that she is a virgin by bleeding, well, I am sorry.  Not every virgin does bleed on her wedding night, so the whole thing is kind of illogical, but if you feel it is life or death, I guess you would be able to figure out a way to bleed -- poking with a pin or whatever.
