Odd discharge for months

I've been on here before about a problem that occured when I was on the contraceptive injection Depo-provera. For a long while, I had an odd milky brown vaginal discharge that came and went for weeks on end, inbetween annoying amounts of bleeding and irregular spotting. I have since been unable to have a -regular- period and I keep spotting (or what looks like spotting) on and off, I'll have two weeks or regular healthy vaginal discharge and then it'll start turning dark brown, like drying or old blood. I've come off the depo provera and no longer want to use it, I really dislike it.
Lately though, the discharge has has seemed to be sticky, and it almost looks like there are pieces of membrane in the discharge, almost like when the uterus sheds it's lining for a normal mestrual cycle, but it's brown and thin, it's starting to worry me and get very annoying because I'm meticulous and a bit O.C.D. when it comes to my cleanliness down there and my sexual health, not to mention it's highly embarassing trying to have sex with your boyfriend when it's so very unsightly and messy. Is there -any- way possible to get this weird discharge and cycle to stop or is there a heavier underlying matter that needs to be addressed, I'm very frustrated and horribly embarassed about this.

I know that the shot can definitely throw off your cycle and cause spotting and discharge! If its something that is really bothering you call the dr and and see what they would recomend..... I do think tho that its an after affect from the shot.....
