About a year ago I noticed that I had a small bump on the underside of my penis shaft. It's placement is in between the middle of the shaft and the base, and in the area where the pubic hairs grow. I am uncircumcised and the bump appears to be attached just to the outer skin, because when I pull the skin in that area, the bump comes along with it. The bump is fairly small...I have been reading about cysts that are the size of peas, but this is not even close to that size....its only maybe 1-2 millimeters in diameter and about 1-2 millimeters in height. However, its much more noticeable when I'm erect and the skin on my penis is more tight.
I had a dermatologist look at it and he said without a doubt that it was just a cyst (I can't remember exactly what kind of cyst he said) but he sprayed what I think was liquid nitrogen on it. He said that in a few days it would turn black and then it would go away. Sure enough, it turned black and the bump went away.
But after a few months its come back in the same spot. Its not red and it does not itch, but this time i squeezed it and I noticed a white head begin to appear. So I squeezed some more and it popped and out came some pus. It was solid looking pus, but there was absolutely no blood.
My question is, could this be an ingrown hair follicle? Is that why it appears where my pubic hairs grow? Or does this sound like a cyst? I don't believe it can be an STD because I've only had 2 partners both of whom were virgins. What should I do about it? Would applying heat to it cause the bump to go away? I am definitely looking for a solution that would cause this bump to go away permanently.
Some more information, I read that sebactus cysts can be caused by an increase in testosterone. I do work out fairly regularly (about 4-6 times a week) but I also masturbate roughly about the same (4-6 times a week). If I stopped either of those activities, would that cause the bump to go away?
Thanks for the help
