First of all, index finger alone would be skinny.  Index finger plus middle finger -- not skinny, it's normal.  She was obviously just trying to be hurtful.  Besides, rather on the slender side (if it were, which it isn't) is more desirable to a partner than overly thick.  Right at the beginning of the action, the vagina is pretty sensitive, and doesn't care to be suddenly stretched out.  Maybe you could have told her that her vagina was flabby and stretched out, and see how she likes that insult.  Anyway, forget it, she was merely being spiteful.

ps -- It's really about the enthusiasm and fun and delight you have in the sex, not the size of your parts.  One of my best lovers had equipment about the width and length of his thumb.  Now, he had long, slender hands, but that was not a big penis by anyone's count, yet he was really good in bed.  Obviously, nobody had ever hurled insults at him and undermined his confidence, or if they had, he liked sex and the ladies so much that it didn't faze him.  Just focus on the lady, and on how much you like her and get a kick out of sex, and you'll get past this comment.
