FAINTING?? BLACKOUTS??

I dont know why but for the last 3 years i have been fainting or blacking out for no reason.

When it first started, i just thought that it was just because i was getting out of bed way too fast ( i used to fall in my room a lot! and in the hall way. one time i fell into my closet and couldn't get up for some reason.)

But then it got all weird because it would happen out of the blue. i would be feeling fine and walking and then i would just pass out right there.

sometimes i can feel it coming and i sit on the ground before i fall down.

THE very first then i see is black spots then it all just goes black and i fall down. But its not like i am out for long. I get up with in the next 30 seconds to a minute.

It happened a lot during the first year but then the next year it only happened everyonce in a while after that. THen it happened again and i fell against the hall way and i guess you can say i got a "wall burn" and it sort of bruised. so my got a shaman to come and see me.My parents are religious and have done a ... umm im not really sure what its called, but the shaman person said that i should be fine. and i was okay.... but that was 2 months ago. and this morning i fell in my room again. but i didnt tell my parents...

i'm not really into my religion and i have suggested that we go see the doctor.. but my parents try to avoid doctors if they can because they don't really trust doctors and thats another story though...

what can be wrong with me?

other problems that i have noticed is that my period has been getting farther and farther apart. last time it was 2 months.. now its been like 2 months and a half since i've had mine.

and i haven't been able to think correcting... or think straight... and i fine myself not being able to speak right. English is my second language but i've never had problems talking in english... but ive been having trouble finding the right words or saying the wrong words even though i know exactly what i want to say. ( thats in both languages )

i just thought that it was a little problem but now i'm getting worried....

i've been experiencing something much like that. it only happened twice. but i cant remember the time i 'blacked out' but i kept moving. i even caught myself before i got hurt. but it still kinda creeps me out. and im not willing to see a doctor about it because i just got through testing for a bunch of stuff that came up with nothing. im walking on a tightwire, cuz i cant tell when im about to pass out, i just suddenly find myself awake somewhere where i wasnt. i dont act differently, i just try to keep myself standing. i've hurt myself slightly, but didnt feel it. glad im not alone.

hello,
im 15 and for the past year i've been receiving black outs as well, i asked my doctor and he said it was nothing, and it was just because i was getting up to quickly. However, lately i get them all the time, like you said, ill be walking, and ill get it. I thought it was still nothing so i ignored it, but a few days ago i got a black out and i fell, like for a few seconds but i those few seconds i was feeling really dizzy. I think its the same problem you have. At the moment ive seen a doctor and i did a couple of tests like a ECG and an EGG but the results are normal. i have one more test tomorrow.

There are a couple of different conditions it could be...

Orthostatic Intolerance :

Vasovagal Syncope:

There are others...
Really, the best thing to do would be see a doctor. Let your parents know that this is something that is serious. Tell them that this REALLY concerns you, and that you NEED to see a doctor.

thanks you for the advice. Yeah thats what i'm learning to do too. is to just sit down when i feel it coming... thats if i do see it coming.... *sighs...

and i guess i should start documenting when it does happen.. i've always been hoping that it'll just go away....

It may not be a lot of comfort but I have been passing out for years -- over 15 yrs(been doing it since I was 13).  I had lots of test done, took some med for a while but it didn't really work (just had to figure out to sit down quickly).  I will be going in to a doctor who did many tests on me when I was a teen again (hopefully there is something new).  For now - the best advice I can give is sit down (& document when you passed out - and if you were sick, if you were tired, etc).  It could help give you clues for when to look out for it (& hopefully see a doctor). Sorry - I know it's not a lot of good advice, but hopefully it helps a little:)
