Fainting, should I tell my parents/doctor?

I fainted today at my work, I'm 17, a female, and I work at a pizza place. I was refilling the cheese when I got really really tired, and my vision started blacking out (which is usual if I get up too fast, Ill loose my vision), so I excused my self to the bathroom. When I was there, I leaned my head inbetween my legs to breath, and I started hearing a loud, roaring noise in my ears. I couldn't hear, and I lost feeling in my fingers and stuff. It was getting serious, and I didn't want to disturb my boss, so I walked up to him to ask if I could sit down, and then things get blurry because I don't remeber what happened. I know I was standing there, my vision went, and the roaring was so loud and I couldn't feel my legs or my arms or anything, but then I did kinda feel the pain as I feel. I somehow got up, and I don't remember much. I sat in a chair in my bosses office and I got a cold sweat with dizziness all over. Should I tell my doctor?

That definately sounds like something you want to tell someone about. You could be missing nutrients or something. I fainted before and we were very worried, got blood tests and heart monitering done, only to find out I stood with my knees locked too long. Fainting could be a sign of any number if things. If you fainted at a bad time, you could be injured. Even if only to set your mind at ease, this is certainly something to get checked out.

Hi msussalla, it all depends like when last did you eat or drink were you coming down with the flu ect all that can play a part in fainting. If it was a one time thing I wouldnt be to worried, that being said that it never previously happend before. There are thousands of different reason for you to acutely faint like orthostatic hypotension, anxiety, low blood sugar, electrolites where depleted , heat exhaustion ect. But you said you get it when you stand up sometimes so it could possibly have be a sudden drop in blood pressure. But if it happens again especeally for no reason at all I would highly recomend that you go see a doctor as soon as possible because there might be a underlying medical cause thats causing it like syncope or heart problems just to be on the safe side have it checked out.
But good luck and I hope everything works out fine for you!!!:-)
