Thank you for the post. I was stating what we were always taught by several of my daughter's physicians during the years of her growing up as we had such a hard time getting her to gain weight. I am not really a big believer in things I read on the internet, so I never go looking. As an example: Ancestry.com says my mother came over on a boat to this country.......that is SO NOT true......my mother flew into New York, she never boarded a boat. How do I know? She told me herself.

Hi,
" A vitamin suppliment isn't going to hurt you and you cannot overdose on vitamins; your body will basically 'pee out' any levels the body doesn't need"
It is not correct, only water soluble vitamins are thrown out in urine, fat soluble vitamins like Vit A,D,E etc, get accumulated in tissues and infact can overdose the body. Have a look at the following link and Google for ' Vitamin supplement overdose for more info.:

A vitamin suppliment isn't going to hurt you and you cannot overdose on vitamins; your body will basically 'pee out' any levels the body doesn't need. You never said what kind of suppliment you are taking, however, nor the reason why you are taking them. That would be helpful to know. Having said all of that, you may want to see your doctor so that he can do an EKG and Holter or Event Monitor to see if you have an Arryhthmia problem such as Wolff-Parkinson-White which can cause her heart to beat fast on occasion. Your age means nothing as far as heart problems go. The reality of it is more children die from serious forms of heart disease than children who suffer from ALL forms of childhood cancers COMBINED. Having said that, if you had SERIOUS heart disease, you would have known about that years ago, so don't get upset by those statistics, I simply put that on her to educate you a little bit.
Chest pain is caused by a lack of blood flow to the heart muscle walls. There are two main things that will cause that: CAD or Coronary Artery Disease which is where the coronary arteries get blocked up which takes about 20 years of eating crap foods to do and Cardiomyopathies which is where the heart muscle itself, is diseased and causes the walls to become too thick or too thin. Too thin, it's called Dilated Cardiomyopathy  which is usually caused by a virus and where the walls are too thick it's called Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy which is usually, but not always, genetic in nature. Both forms of cardiomyopathy can affect infants and children, however, they are VERY rare and if that was the cause of your chest pain, you would have been diagnosed by this point in your life, especially at your age. For chest pain to be a symptom at your age, a cadiomyopathy would have to have advanced to such a degree that it would be running your life at this point, which means, you would not have the energy to .....say go shopping at the mall with your friends etc. A lot of people refer to palpatations, or the feeling of the heart beating, as chest pain, that's not what tht is.  See a doctor and get tested for an electric problem with the heart. Take care!

Hi,
The golden rule is unless recommended by a doctor, do not take supplements, get the necessary nutrients directly from food only. Supplementation can very often overdose your body with vitamins and minerals, which can adversely affect. In your case, stop if possible, the supplements for few days and see if the symptoms go away, if so, do not take them, orelse, talk to your doctor about the symptoms.
