Lump on armpit

Hi, I'm 13 years old (in a month!), and today, right after going on the tradmill. I sat down to read and realized that my right armpit had a very tender area. A very small, but painful, especially to the touch, lump was there, and I'm not sure what it could be. My mom says it's probably a cyst, and to take my ganglion medicine and let it be, but I'm not sure (like I said before.)

This could also be an enlarged lymph node and should be looked at. maybe you should bring this idea up again to your mother.

Also what shape is it? Round, long, blobby, ect. Are there more than one of these and what about the other arm pit? Is it the same or diffrent? Is there any color diffrence in the skin?
